Proof that Cheri is wrong.

Last week, Cheri started her war against television . I say that in jest, but she was questioning the value of tv and whether the amount of time people spend on TV is worth it or just pure escapism. If it was escapism, then for what reason?

There was some good discussion, but I think the TV debate falls into three camps: rejectors (aka kill your TV), reserved defenders (aka we only watch the discovery channel and PBS), and finally, unabashed supporters (like my friend, Katie). I fall into the supporter camp - however, it is hard for the unabashed supporter to make his point, that TV is one of the greatest forms of pure entertainment invented. More importantly, that there is nothing at all wrong with spending your time watching TV. And then like a gift, I saw something on TV that was able to sum up my argument in one short minute.

I give you: The Robot Chicken Star Wars Special. I consider further debate on this topic moot.

Apparently, it doesn't take long to find Earth.

This sucks.

OK, on the one hand I respect the decision. You kill a show if you take it too far (see: LOST).

But on the otherhand, this sucks. Ah well, maybe movies are in the works?

Sleeping with the Enemy

Add to my list of very short accomplishments: being recognized on TV.

My beloved Mariner's are in town, so I headed over the Yankee stadium on Friday night with a few coworkers. Now, many people are afraid of being a non-yankee fan in Yankee stadium. My first trip there last year, I was too. However, I've since realized that unless I'm wearing a Redsox or Mets hat, I'm going to be left alone. As I'm CONSTANTLY REMINDED, this team has 26 world championships under their belt and really fans of the M's are treated like the fat kid picked last for kickball. A lone fan wearing a Mariner's cap isn't going to be noticed...unless you are the FSN Broadcast scanning the crowd for a singlular fan. And I was. Seriously, unless you count the 5 Navy cadets I saw walking into the stadium, I was the only Mariner fan there that day (at least wearing a cap). And thus my TV experience:

The coolest part about it all isn't seeing the vid. It was my cellphone literally EXPLODING with calls and text messages shortly after it. People at the game were VERY impressed that I had friends who actually watched the games on TV, so kudos to you guys.

i don't tend to watch a lot of TV - I'm not one of those kill your TV snobs, I love it in fact. But between work, the dog, dvd's, the gym, photography, books, xbox, blah blah blah....there are only so many things one can do. So for me to watch a show, it has to be DVR-worthy; on my list...The Office, Family Guy, Earl, Avatar, HIMYM, Conan O'Brien, Battlestar...I try to keep it low to keep the quality high, if that makes sense. However, I've added a new show, just on the strength of this ad alone (thanks to lindsayism for pointing it out):
