Sad news to hear about the passing of Harvey Manning today. I never met him, but having taken his advice so often in my life in a way it feels like we've spoken hundreds of times (I can't count the number of dog-ears I've given his pages). The Mountaineers building was only a few blocks from where I lived in Lower Queen Anne and whenever I drove by I always thought, "That's where Harvey and Ira work(ed)."
I'm very sad. I brought his books with me all the way to New York for comfort and now I'm a bit homesick knowing that a little piece of home has passed.
