Twelve hours of basketball. Twelve hours.
I'm talking about the first day of the big east tournament. 8 teams from arguably the toughest basketball conference in the nation duked it out in the first round of the Big East Tournament, held in the legendary Madison Square Garden. I had been looking forward to this day, since the very first mention of a trip to NY for work. The main event for the night was watching Marquette face a scrappy St. John's squad, the first time in person I've had a chance to watch them this season. It was great to see them win, though not so great getting home past midnight with the prospect of a short night's sleep ahead of me.
This morning? The back is sore a little bit. My ass a little flatter. I won't go into details, but suffice to say that I've decided that twelve hours of basketball is a bit of a stretch. Today I'm going to settle for half of that, catching the two evening shows. Still, I'm proud though of my little marathon achievement. Even counting the two games I'm going to miss, that's still nine games in four days.
Cougs FTW!
Disappointment is often the result when one gets too hopeful about Wazzu, but it's been fun watching them this year! I might have a chance to see them play in round 1 or 2 next weekend in New Orleans.
